In recognition of services to the alpaca industry by the late Dr Richard Dixon, the Australian Alpaca Association Ltd. has established the Richard Dixon Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The successful applicant for the scholarship in 2010 is Dr Alison Lee from Victoria.
Alison plans to utilise her scholarship grant to develop and implement a disease surveillance project that will collate information regarding disease occurrence in alpacas in South East Australia.
